After serving as a volunteer at Grace UMC in Palestine and part-time in the youth ministry at FUMC Grapeland, Cindy Doran entered the ministry full time in 2003 serving as Youth Minister at First United Methodist Church, Crockett. She received a certification from Perkins School of Youth Ministry, was licensed while serving at FUMC Henderson before attending Course of Study classes at Southern Methodist University where she completed the requirements of the UMC to minister as a local pastor. Rev. Doran moved from Henderson to Lufkin when she was appointed to Kelty’s United Methodist Church in 2010. Since then she has served at Burke UMC and Bethlehem UMC as a second appointment to her charge. In January of 2023 Cindy was appointed to McMahan Chapel UMC in addition to serving Keltys UMC.

Rev. Doran has served on many district committees and boards including the District Leadership Team, where she has served as Chair for several years. She has also served on several committees including chairing the Small Membership Church Committee of TAC and serving on the Conference Leadership Team. She serves as a specialist for the conference in Small Membership Churches and Youth Ministry. 

Rev. Doran also serves the Lufkin Police Department as a Police Chaplin. She is active in the communities where she serves through the ministries of her churches.
